Your First Appointment
Before your visit, be sure to complete our new patient forms at home, and bring them with you. Your initial checkup and cleaning (in the absence of gum disease) should take about an hour and a half. Dr. Stooksberry will examine your teeth, existing dental work, gums, and how your upper and lower teeth fit together (occlusion). To search for decay, we use a cavity detection laser called DIAGNOdent.
We may take digital X-rays, a Panorex image, and/or intraoral photos. These records will help Dr. Stooksberry understand your current oral health situation. He’ll project the images on a monitor in the treatment room, show you his findings, and discuss your priorities. Then, as your adviser, Dr. Stooksberry will work with you to plan treatment that suits your lifestyle, schedule, and budget.
